Authorities have shifted their rescue efforts to retrieval efforts on the remaining victims still trapped inside the 3-storey Southern Trade Commercial (also known as South Green Marketing) building in Padada, Davao del Sur.
This after authorities no longer detected any signs of life inside the collapsed building as of Monday morning.
Engr. Luke Cadoyas of the Padada Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office said that as of five in the morning of December 16, the life detector device brought by the rescuers from Davao City could no longer detect any signs of life inside the collapsed building.
The same machine earlier detected three life signs while rescue efforts were ongoing overnight.
On Sunday evening, six victims were also rescued alive from the said building and were readily brought to the hospital for treatment.
