A 5.3 magnitude quake struck in the City of Mati as the city celebrates its fiesta today, September 10.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology meanwhile initially reported the quake to be magnitude 4.8 and its epicenter is 49 kilometers south of Governor Generoso.
A final report by Phivolcs reported the location at 39 km S 83′ E of Governor Generoso. Magnitude is at 5.3 with a depth of 39km.
Based on another report, the epicenter was located off the waters of Barangay Bobon.
The tremor struck around 1:39 p.m.
The temblor was also felt in other parts of the Davao Region.

Cotabato; Kalilangan, Bukidnon; Cagayan De Oro City
The Mati City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office meanwhile reported no damages from the said quake in their area of responsibility, so far.
Mati CDRRMO head Charlemagne Bagasol said they are however still monitoring other areas who still have not submitted report to their office. (CIO MATI)
