The Army soldier arrested by the police in a buy-bust operation in Davao City Thursday evening has been on Awol (absence without leave) since March 2018.
The Philippine Army’s 10th Infantry Division said that Staff Sergeant Paolo Plasabas is no longer an active member of the Philippine Army when he was arrested on July 11.
“The suspect, Paolo Plasabas is not an active member of Philippine Army anymore. He was dishonorably discharged for committing AWOL on March 2018. He is not, in any way, connected to 10ID,” said 10th ID spokesman Capt. Jerry Lamosao.
Plasabas was arrested in possession of shabu and marijuana.
“As to his recent case, let the apprehending law enforcement agencies do the process of investigation. 10ID will not tolerate any illegal acts by our soldiers and we will always respect human rights,” said Capt. Lamosao.
