Fake “Duterte endorsement” on Alvarez

A supposed endorsement of President Rodrigo Duterte on Congressman Pantaleon Alvarez and the entire slate of PDP-Laban in Davao del Norte is going around in the said province since Friday and is being played in public places and over the radio.

In the said audio endorsement, President Duterte can be heard endorsing “Bebot” and criticizing the supposed “elite” members of the community.

The endorsement turns out to be FAKE.

No less than former Special Assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go confirmed that the supposed audio endorsement which lasted for a little over a minute came from various and previous statements of President Duterte and were spliced and edited to make it appear that Duterte is endorsing “Bebot” which is obviously referring to Rep. Pantaleon Alvarez.

Go was given a copy of the supposed endorsement and informed about it. He replied, “copy, oo nga”.

Another official from Malacañang who requested anonymity said the audio clip was very obvious to have been heavily edited. He said that there was even one portion when it was no longer President Duterte who was talking but a Digong impersonator.

The official was referring to the end portion when “Digong” was endorsing as well the entire PDP-Laban slate in Davao del Norte.

Just as the PDP-Laban Davao del Norte was claiming support from President Duterte, the President meanwhile attended the rally of the Hugpong ng Pagbabago in Davao City on Friday evening where he expressed support to the HNP political party.

On Thursday evening, also in attendance at another HNP rally was PDP-Laban president Sen. Koko Pimentel.
