The senator who, last year claimed that Davao City is the most dangerous place in the country, has safely left the city Tuesday.
Onboard PAL flight PR2814, Senator Antonio Trillanes IV and his security team flew out of the city around 12 noon with nary a scratch.
Trillanes was in Davao City on January 15 for his arraignment on the four libel cases filed by presidential son Paolo Duterte and brother-in-law Mans Carpio.
Trillanes arrived in Davao around 5:40 am and appeared in the Regional Trial Court Branch 54 past eight in the morning.
He pleaded not guilty on the charges and called them harassment cases during an interview with the media following his arraignment.
Trillanes’ team readily left the Benigno Aquino Hall of Justice in Ecoland, Davao City and stayed in an undisclosed place while waiting for his flight back to Manila.
A team of police security also escorted Trillanes during his short stay in the city.
February 2018, Senator Trillanes was declared persona non grata by the Davao City Council after his public pronouncement that Davao is the most dangerous c in the country.
