The Davao City Police Office and the Task Force Davao will be implementing random checkpoints as part of security measures adopted for the Yuletide Season.
Mayor Inday Sara Duterte said during the City Peace and Order Council (CPOC) meeting on Wednesday afternoon that she has instructed the police and the security sector in general to have added eyes on the ground for a safe holiday season.
She said that although checkpoints at the city’s entry and exit points are already in place, it will be better if more random checkpoints are conducted just to ensure that the city will be able to peacefully celebrate Christmas and New Year.
TF Davao has checkpoints in Lasang, in Sirawan, Toril, and in Lacson in Calinan.
“In the next days, especially during the busy days, we will have additional random checkpoints in the different parts of the city just to ensure that there will be no untoward incident,” Mayor Inday said.
She also instructed the DCPO and the TF Davao to deploy their personnel in strategic areas of the city during the busy days of the Christmas season.
“The random checkpoint will start very soon and it will last until the New Year. This will be a big help for our security measures,” Mayor Inday said.
She said the random checkpoints will also help in the arrest of those wanting to conduct other criminal activities in the city. CIO
