Davao del Norte Governor Anthony del Rosario is set to file his certificate of candidacy today, October 15, in the provincial Comelec office in Tagum City.
The governor is set to run for the 1st congressional district against ousted House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez.
His brother, Board Member Rodney del Rosario, will meanwhile run for governor.
Board Member Raymond Joey Millan will be gunning for the vice governorship against former Tagum City mayor Rey Uy.
Former governor Rodolfo del Rosario, who was initially rumored to make a comeback in politics for governor, will be the group’s campaign manager.
The del Rosarios will run under the regional political party Hugpong ng Pagbabago headed by Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.
Last Friday, candidates for the province’s 2nd congressional district headed by reelectionist Rep. Tonyboy Floirendo filed their respective CoC’s.
Floirendo said he sees no reason to delay the filing of their CoCs considering that they already have a final slate and is confident of their lineup.
