A Philippine Air Lines flight from Davao to Manila was stalled Wednesday afternoon after its engine was reportedly damaged by a birdstrike.
Flight PR2814 was about to take-off from the Davao International Airport past one in the afternoon when its right engine malfunctioned.
As of this writing, the said plane is still grounded at the tarmac. Everyone was safe though.
Cielo Villaluna of PAL confirmed the incident as a birdstrike case.
“This was a birdstrike on right engine of aircraft during take off roll prior to lift-off. The aircraft returned to ramp and all passengers are safe,” she said.
Among those affected passengers were Malacañang staff of the Presidential Photo Division Robinson Niñal and Karl Norman Alonzo.
The affected passengers were made to deplane and rebooked to the next flights.
