About 5,000 new members of the regional party Hugpong ng Pagbabago took their oath of allegiance before HNP chair and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio Friday, August 3.
In a show of force, Davao del Norte stalwarts led by 2nd District Rep. Tonyboy Floirendo Jr., Governor Anthony del Rosario, and former governor Rodolfo del Rosario attended the mass oathtaking held at the Davao del Norte Sports Complex.
Also in attendance were Special Assistant to the President Christopher Bong Go, Senators Cynthia Villar and JV Ejercito, and Ilocos Governor Imee Marcos.
Mayors, vice mayors, councilors, and barangay officials from all the towns and cities of the said province were also in attendance — all wearing shirts of HNP that says “sama-sama, walang iwanan”.
The new members underwent orientation before they were made to take their oath of allegiance to the regional political party.
After the mass oathtaking, a free concert will be held at the same venue later in the evening.
Food for the participants were provided by the organizers who came from all parts of the province.
Visibly absent though were Tagum Mayor Allan Rellon and Island Garden City of Samal Mayor Al David Uy.
The two mayors are allied with ousted House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez.
