The drama in the House of Representatives is ongoing even after the State of the Nation Address of President Rodrigo Duterte.
After the Sona, several lawmakers still remained inside the plenary hall and planned on calling a session after it was deemed that their number constitutes a quorum.
The microphone was however put off and the seal of the Lower House was said to have been taken outside the session hall by one congressman who is said to be allied with ousted House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez.
Despite his ouster though, Alvarez was still allowed to officiate the Sona along with Senate President Vicente Sotto III. It was learned that newly-elected Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo allowed Alvarez to do his last official act after the latter refused to give way thus delaying the start of the Sona by more than an hour.
The majority planned on holding a session after the Sona for the approval of the Bangsamoro Organic Law after President requested Lower House to approve it within 48 hours, but the Alvarez allies allegedly hid the House maze and the seal.
