The Police Regional Office 11 is set to file charges against a motorist who uploaded a video in Facebook accusing the personnel of the Island Garden City of Samal (Igacos) of being unfair after the motorist was issued a traffic citation ticket while other violators were allegedly not.
In the viral video allegedly taken by one Jonathan Velarde Navales, Igacos police personnel were seen apprehending the group of Navales for traffic violation.
The group then accused the cops of unfair treatment after another motorist was allegedly allowed to go scot-free.
The PRO 11 however said on Thursday that the other motorist who was allegedly allowed passage by the Igacos cops was in fact given a TOP as well.
The other motorist was identified as Alejandro villiasor and was issued TOP # 146271370.
PRO 11 said that they will file unjust vexation against Navales for uploading the viral video and falsely accusing the Igacos cops.
The PRO 11 also clarified that Navales was asked to board the police mobile after the motorist was defiant of the authorities.
“Accrdingly, mao ipasakay to sya sa police unta sa mobile kay dili sya mag pa TOP ug murag naay resistance na well in fact caught on the act sya na naay violation sa RA 4136 particularly no helmet,” said PRO 11 spokeswoman Chief Inspector Milgrace Driz.
Driz advised the public to report any police wrongdoing to the proper authorities and not thru social media.
“We do not condone or tolerate any violations of the police if there is any, any acts of our police must be with in accordance with the law and our Police Operational Procedures. If they think that they’re rights were violated they should report it to authorities of disciplinary machineries of the PNP. But in this case we believe the police is just doing his job,” said Driz.
