Bureau of Corrections chief and former Philippine National Police director general Ronald dela Rosa has transferred residence from Davao City to Sta. Cruz in Davao del Sur in preparation for the upcoming 2019 midterm elections.
Dela Rosa registered before the Commission on Elections Davao del Sur on Tuesday, July 17.
He admitted that his transfer of registration is for the 2019 election where he would run for governor of the province.
Dela Rosa said the order came directly from President Rodrigo Duterte who wanted him to run for governor.
Dela Rosa’s revelation came as a surprise considering that incumbent Davao del Sur Governor Douglas Ra Cagas is a known friend of Duterte.
Dela Rosa said that like a good soldier, he will just follow the instruction of his commander-in-chief and would run for governor instead of the Senate where he was included in the top 12 senatoriables based on the latest survey.
