CAMP BGEN AGAAB, MALUNGON, SARANGANI – One NPA terrorist who operates in South Cotabato, surrender along with his firearms to the troops of 27th IB in Barangay, Tasiman, Lake Sebu South Cotabato on Tuesday morning 03 July 2018.
Funok Magaw Timbang alias BOKNOY, 33 years old, married and residence of Barangay Tasiman, Lake Sebu, South Cotabato, surrender along with his M16 rifle to the troops of 27IB.
“Wala man klaro ang ila pasalig sa akon nga ‘SUPAMIL’ (Suporta Para sa Pamilya) asta subong wala pa man ko ka baton sang suporta nga pinansyal halin sa ila. Isa pa kapoy na ko sige ka panago sa bukid kag basi ma patay pa ko sa engkwetro.” They failed their promise to give financial support to my family. I am tired of hiding from the government troops and Im afraid of being caught in the firefight during encounter, alias BOKNOY said.
It can be recalled last 07 June 2018 three NPA terrorists also surrendered to the troops of 27IB with their three M16 rifle, in T’boli, South Cotabato. Since then the troops of 27IB continued to intensify its security operation to maintain peace in their area of operation.
“We remain open and continue exerting efforts to reach out for those remaining NPAs who would like to surrender and return to the mainstream society as a productive citizen,” Lt Col Jones Brisal Otida 27IB Commander said.
The former rebels will be presented to the LGU of South Cotabato for immediate assistance and enrol them to the CLIP (Comprehensive Local Integration Program). They will be provided a livelihood assistance and they will also receive additional cash assistance for their surrendered firearms that will help them to start a new and peaceful life.

Meanwhile, Major General Noel S Clement, Commander 10ID lauded troops’ accomplishment and said
“Units under 10ID will continuously accept the NPA terrorist who wants to surrender and go back to the folds of law. There were 58 NPA regulars who have surrendered bringing along their high powered firearms and IEDs to this brigade since January 2018 to date.”
