Manila, Philippines — To further equip drivers with advance skills that will improve their service for TNVS passengers, Grab is debuting the Grab Driver Academy on June 23.

As part of the Better Trips: A 100 day plan to improve everyone’s journey, the first batch of the Grab Driver Academy kicks off on June 23-26 with 2,000 top performing Grab drivers.

Better Drivers, Better Trips

“We designed the Academy to equip our drivers with the knowledge they need to elevate their service,” says Brian Cu, Grab’s Country Head. “Tackling advance driver tips along with carefully selected elective programs, our goal is for our partner-drivers to come out of the experience with an expanded toolset that they can apply to their work.”

The program curriculum includes customer service, first aid, road courtesy, and crime protection and detection. Electives includes communication, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, time management, data privacy, and social media handling.

In partnership with Red Cross, A1 Driving School and Highway Patrol Group (HGP), the Grab Driver Academy works in tandem with the LTFRB’s existing driver academy to ensure an improved TNVS

“Implementing the academy allows us to not only empower drivers but also make sure that we are creating stronger partnerships between our platform and our drivers,” adds Cu. “Through the Academy and our rehabilitation program, we can fulfill our commitment to provide a more convenient, safe and reliable transportation platform to the riding public.”

The Grab Driver Academy will be rolled out to more drivers in the coming months.
