Authorities have created Special Investigation Task Group Denora to look into the murder of veteran journalist Dennis Denora in Panabo City Thursday afternoon.

The SITG Denora will be headed by Sr. Supt. Jose Bayani Gucela along with Davao del Norte police provincial director Sr. Supt. Allan Manibog. SITG Denora is convening Friday afternoon at the Davao del Norte Police Provincial Office.

The Police Regional Office 11 said that a case conference will be held where they would tackle and determine the motive behind the attack. The task group would also check at the stories published by Denora’s newspaper, Trends and Time The Newspaper, for possible identification of persons-of-interests.

“ In the case conference scheduled today will tackle whether he has personal grudge sa work as journalist, in the investigation we will see his articles if naa ba ni syay mga na sulat against somebody that could be one of the person of interest or may be naa ba ni syay threat na na mention sa family, friends or colleagues or if naa ba ni syay business grudge, that could be the possible things that the Special Investigation Task Group Denora will be digging deeper,” said PRO 11 spokeswoman Chief Insp. Milgrace Driz.

A check with the local paper published by Denora, it showed that he had recently questioned the alleged P3 million per barangay that was said to have been promised by the camp of House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez to the barangays of Davao del Norte.

Denora was said to be very critical of the Speaker in his newspaper of late.
