Please be informed that on or about 1:40AM of June 2, 2018, SDET members of San Pedro Police Station led by the undersigned conducted joint Anti-Illegal Drugs operation (buy-bust) with pre-ops no. 30004-062018-0004 at La Suerte Videoke Bar, Magallanes, Brgy. 2-A, Davao City against alias “DODOY TABA” (suspect no. 1) and alias “JESSIE” (suspect no. 2). During the operation, the said suspects sensed that they were dealing with Police Operatives and without hesitation suspect no. 1 drew a .38 cal revolver and shot our operative who acted as immediate back up. Fortunately, said police officer was not hit by the suspect and was able to retaliate using his service firearm which resulted to the instantaneous death of the suspect.
On the other hand, suspect no. 2 alias “JESSIE” ran towards Friendly Care Clinic, Magallanes, Davao City to escape from arrest. However, other operative who acted as perimeter security chased the suspect but he was shot by the escaping suspect using an improvised handgun “sumpak”. Fortunately, said police officer was not hit and was able to retaliate using his service firearm which resulted to the instantaneous death of the suspect no. 2.
That in the course of the investigation, suspect no. 1 was only identified as alias “DODOY TABA” while suspect no. 2 was identified as JESSIE MORAN, 18 years old, single, former CICL, resident of Talisay, Times Beach, Brgy. 76-A, Davao City. Further, investigation revealed that according to the witnesses in the area, the suspects were involved in the series of Robbery Hold-up, Akyat-Bahay and Theft incidents.
SOCO Operatives led by PCI NOLAN GENOVA while conducting crime scene investigation recovered from suspect no. 1 are the following:
a. One (1) .38 revolver without serial no. with four (4) live ammunitions and one (1) fired cartridge,
b. Four (4) small plastic cellophane containing suspected dried marijuana leaves with estimated value of Php2,000.00;
c. One (1) coin purse containing; Php320.00, one (1) blade and one (1) pair of earring,
d. One (1) color blue disposable lighter
while recovered from suspect no. 2 are the following: 1. One (1) improvised handgun with one (1) fired cartridge; 2. One (1) blue shoulder bag with assorted women’s. personal belongings.
The recovered pieces of evidence are now in the custody of SOCO while the cadaver of the suspects were brought to Angel Funeral Homes for proper disposition.
