Election violence breaks out in Davao village

Please be informed that on or about 7:30 P.M. this office received an information that an alleged shooting incident transpired at Purok 3 Zunta Isla Verde, Brgy. 23-C, Boulevard, Davao City. Thus, personnel of this office led by the undersigned immediately went to above-said place to conduct investigation.

Initial investigation revealed through the testimonies of the witnesses who refused to disclose their identities, that on or about 7:00 P.M. of May 12, 2018 along Purok 3 Zunta Isla Verde, Brgy. 23-C, Boulevard, Davao City, accordingly, two groups of persons believed to be supporters of incumbent Barangay Chairman Alemudin Usman and Barangay Chairman Candidate Amel Bangsa Manding had a heated altercation which ensued into a fistfight.

In the midst of commotion, successive gun fires were heard from unknown directions which resulted into an injury of the following persons namely:

1. ALCON CAMALIA EBRAHIM, 48 years old, male, and a resident of Purok 4 Isla Verde, Brgy. 23-C, Boulevard, Davao City who just passed by near the place of incident and subsequently, sustained a lone gunshot wound at his right hand,

2. ALIBASER MANDING CABUNTALAN, 34 years old, male, married, and a resident of Purok 2 Isla Verde, Brgy. 23-C Boulevard, Davao City who sustained a lone gunshot wound at his left foot and believed to be Manding Supporter, and

3. ABDUL AMAR ASIS, 29 years old, male, married, computer encoder, and Purok 1 Isla Verde, Brgy. 23-C, Boulevard, Davao City who sustained a lone stabbed wound at his back and believed to be a Usman Supporter.

Fortunately, all victims were declared in stable condition by their respective physician in their respective hospitals.
