One NPA left dead by comrade in Laak

Camp General Manuel T Yan Sr., Mawab, Compostela – On April 19, 2018, 6:30 Am., troops of 60IB, while conducting combat operation in Sitio Tadok, Brgy kapatagan, Laak, CVP, encountered more or less 50 CPP-NPA terrorists.

There was a report that reached headquarters of 60IB that a group of armed NPA terrorists is planning to conduct extortion and force recruitment activity in the area. After it was validated, 60IB under 10ID launched Focused Military Operation targeting armed NPA terrorists in order protect the people in the communities and to prevent possible atrocities.

The fire fight lasted for 45 minutes and the NPA terrorists withdrew south direction leaving one of their comrade dead in the encounter site. On the other hand, government forces has one slightly wounded personnel. He is now in stable condition after he was given first aid and brought to the hospital.

The troops are still in pursuit operations following traces of blood from the encounter site.

Meanwhile, as forces of 10ID continue to do its mandate, Major General Noel S Clement Commander 10ID lauded troops’ accomplishment and said “We thank the people of Laak specially the residents of Sitio Tadok of Brgy Kapatagan for reporting the presence of NPA terrorists in their community. It is clear manifestation that NPA terrorists are NOT welcome in Laak and people are NOT supporting their cause.”

“With people’s participation in our anti-insurgency/terrorism campaign, we see more secured and conflict-resilient communities,” MGen Clement added. (PR)
